Nový trik, na nějž lákají své oběti, využívá jako podhoubí FUDu, který již mezi uživatele internetu úspěšně rozesely organizace smýšlející o sobě jako o ochráncích autorských práv k audiovizuálním dílům. Podvodný e-mail, který uživatel může dostat, obsahuje text s informací o tom, že byla monitorována jeho činnost na řaděnejčastěji torrentových vyhledávačů/trackerů, následuje jejich výpis a zmínka o tom, že v příloze je usvědčující materiál v podobě seznamu hudby, filmů a softwaru, ke kterému podle smyšleného monitorování uživatel přišel. Přílohou pak pochopitelně není onen seznam, ale škodlivý software (typicky trojský kůň nebo jiné zvěrstvo)

V současné době asi nejznámější torrentový tracker/vyhledávač The Pirate Bay si zase může chvíli vesele lelkovat. Okresní soud ve Stockholmu, který má na svých bedrech celou slavnou kauzu vedenou proti tomuto serveru, resp. několika jeho hlavním představitelům, oznámil, že odkládá zahájení soudního přelíčení. Původně mělo začítprávě koncem léta, nyní se vše odkládá nejdříve na konec roku, možná až na rokpříští. V oddůvodnění stojí, že zjišťování škod a také doručování obsílek zkrátka trvalo a trvá déle, než se předpokládalo. Současně je třeba zajistit, aby se k soudu dostavily všechny potřebné osoby a vzhledem k nabitosti programu obžalovaných, všech právních zástupců i žalující strany se to stále nedaří. Každopádně po dvou letech vyšetřování bylo nakonec rozhodnuto o obžalování čtyř lidí kolem serveru z porušování copyrightu, konkrétně jak samotných &bdquo...
